The Standards Council of Canada requires all proposed standards be made available for a 60-day public review during the development process, allowing input from interested parties.

These documents are issued for the purpose of generating critical review and comment. The application of material contained in these documents for other purposes, such as its use in judging a product for compliance with current requirements or determining future product needs, would be premature and could be misleading.

A Joint UL/ULC Standard for Stationary Engine Generator Assemblies, UL/ULC 2200, is proposed which includes several substantive changes and new requirements to address current Technology. This Proposed Third Edition covers stationary engine generator assemblies that reflect today’s technology already in production, including gas turbines, small steam engine power generation, and new alternative energy fuel applications in use such as biogas and liquid bio fuels. New sections of the standard also address the use of modern programmable controls for fuel and a wide range of power generation applications.  The proposed third edition will concurrently be submitted to the STP 2200 for ballot and comment and for first-time approval for use as a national standard of Canada (CAN).
