CPSC Recall of Carrier and Bryant Heat Pumps, Recall Release 17-150
In cooperation with the CPSC and Health Canada, Carrier Corp. is recalling 23,300 Carrier Greenspan and Bryan Evolution Extreme heat pumps. (2000 sold in Canada) The recall indicates that the capacitors in the fuse boards in the heat pumps can stop working causing the unit to overheat, posing a fire hazard. Sold from June 2011 through August 2016, Carrier has received 41 reports of the heat pumps overheating. No injuries, fires or property damage have been reported. The models recalled were eligible to bear the cULus Listing Mark.
