In cooperation with the CPSC and Health Canada, Cree Inc. is recalling 104,000 LED T8 replacement lamps. (8,500 were sold in Canada) The recall indicates that the recalled lamps can overheat and melt, posing a burn hazard. Sold from September 2015 through May 2016, Cree has received 12 reports of the recalled lamps overheating and melting. No injuries were reported. This recall also included the LED T8 lamps consumers received as free replacements from June 2015 through May 2016 for previous recall release 15-159. The LED T8 lamps are eligible to bear the cULus Mark.

In cooperation with the CPSC, Whirlpool Corporation is recalling 15,200 Whirlpool brand microwave hood combinations. The recall indicates that internal arcing during use can ignite an internal plastic component, posing a fire hazard. Sold from January 2014 through April 2016, Whirlpool has received five reports of incidents, including one home fire. Two fires involved surrounding cabinets, one report of smoke and one report of burning odor. No injuries were reported. The microwave hood combinations were eligible to bear the cULus Mark.
