ULC Standards and Underwriters Laboratories Inc. have published ANSI/CAN/UL/ULC 1201:2016 Sensor Operated Backwater Prevention Systems. This joint standard was developed and approved by the joint UL/ULC Technical Committee on Prevention of Storm and Sanitary Backflow, comprised of Canadian and American stakeholders, using a single joint standard development process and fulfilling all requirements for national standards in both countries. The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) provided funding for the work in developing this first edition joint standard.
