UL and ULC Warn of Counterfeit UL and ULC Marks on a Fire Valve (Release 15PN-02)

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Feb. 16, 2015 – The following is a notification from UL LLC (UL) and Underwriters Laboratories of Canada Inc. (ULC) that the fire valve identified below bears counterfeit certification marks for the United States and Canada. The valve has not been evaluated by UL or ULC to the appropriate Standards for Safety and it is unknown if the fire valve complies with any safety requirements.

The counterfeit fire valve is similar to a fire valve A156 manufactured by Giacomini SPA that is authorized to bear the UL and ULC Marks. The counterfeit fire valve A156 was not manufactured or labeled by Giacomini SPA, affiliates or agents. See below for identification.
