20170607 – CPSC Recall of Nidec Motor Corp Swimming Pool Motors, Recall Release 17-174

In cooperation with the CPSC and Health Canada, Nidec Motor Corp. is recalling 16,000 swimming pool pump motors. (22 sold in Canada) The recall indicates that the pump control cover can be improperly grounded, posing an electrical shock hazard. Sold from September 2010 through October 2016, Nidec Motor Corp. has not received any reports of incidents or injuries. The models recalled were eligible to bear the cURus Mark.
